Subject Matter

The patent family covers a computerized method, system, and non-transitory computer program product for the integration and coordination of distributed measurement and control systems by means of a functional data structure. The method comprises:

  • generating a functional data structure with variables for mapping data values of the integrated systems;
  • describing the content of variables by means of a set of defining attributes, wherein at least one attribute contains variable references to other variables in order to map variable networks;
  • creating, each time a defining variable attribute value is changed by an integrated system, a primary clone of the affected variable;
  • creating machine clones of the variables that lie on the dependent variable network paths of the primary cloned variable;
  • wherein the primary cloned variable, together with the machine clones along the dependent paths, define a non-redundant data structure.

The independent claims cover the method (Claim 1), the corresponding system implementation (Claim 13), and a non-transitory computer program product carrying the executable instructions (Claim 15). Dependent claims address cloning metadata, sequence identification, predecessor referencing, access control, historization, logging, and visualization.
